The Curse is a legendary place. Part batcave. Part Cornish folk institution. It has its own neo-gothic homespun charm which sees its punters behave in a way unique to its hidden location and mythic history.
Zapoppin’ are a similar group in many ways. Dark folkists on the edge of reason. When they passed through this hallowed venue on their UK tour in 2016, the group had stripped down to an electrified duo which saw the harmonium replaced with a vintage Hohner Symphonic 32. Their concert at The Curse saw cuts from across the band’s history as well as some indication of what the group may explore in the future.
Witness that night on this here recording. Lower your expectations, grab your partner by the pineal gland and have yourself a post-erotic throwdown!
